Jessica Chang, viola

Violist Jessica Chang leads a versatile career as a chamber musician, recitalist, and educator. As the Founder and Executive Director of Chamber Music by the Bay, currently in its eighth season, Ms. Chang performs interactive concerts to over 2,000 youth throughout the San Francisco Bay Area annually. As a chamber musician, she has performed in concert tours throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Her recent festival appearances include Festival Mozaic, Bard Music West, Juneau Jazz & Classics, the Verbier Festival, Perlman Chamber Music Workshop, Aspen, Tanglewood, IMS Prussia Cove, Music from Angel Fire, Savannah Music Festival, Taos School of Music and performances on NPR’s Performance Today. She has also served as the violist of the Afiara Quartet, formerly Quartet-in-Residence at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and visiting faculty at The Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada. Ms. Chang is a graduate of Yale, and completed her graduate studies at Curtis Institute of Music and The Juilliard School. A sought-after chamber musician and teacher, she maintains a private studio in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she performs frequently with ensembles including Ensemble Illume, the Ives Collective, Ensemble San Francisco, and Chamber Music Silicon Valley. She also leads a dual career in tech as a security program manager and is an industry-recognized speaker globally on scaling security culture.
